I'm guessing that the steering rack option gives an improved steering experience and assuming that the power conversion won't - is that right?

  2. if you turn the wheel while ya moving ,you dont need power steering ....come on!!! it aint that bad ,and if it is ,your probably got some sort of problem with ya bus ,im lowered with big wheels and its cool as cucumber.....corsa unit will stick out alot ....theres one advertised in volkworld mag alot .....pump ya tires up man

  4. I'm starting a savings account now to buy me some power steering for when I am a decrepit old fart. I would hate to sell Wilma just because my old lady muscles couldn't drive her! A friend had to do just that and it broke her heart! I think it's a great bit of kit actually.

  5. i got dodgy wrists and dodgy right shoulder (too much monkey buisness)lol.....and i dont fink its thats bad ,now a pug 405 when the power steering gone is another matter, remember once when i drove a customers car back to garage for him ,christ that was bad

  9. Litesteer van will be at the Volksmart show if you would like to try before you buy! ;D

  10. Steering a Bay fitted with PAS is quite an experience...almost unnatural. :)) Drove one the other day courtesy of VW Kampers Ltd who also do the conversion and yes all things being equal I intend to have it installed this Spring.

  11. I found a steering ball nob helped when parking in tight spots.

i spent my early driving days hauling 25 tonnes trucks with no power steering and you are all right we had to get them moving first -- power steering makes my job more bearable, and i will have a electric powered steering in my bus in a jiffy if Lou struggles with it .

  14. i think its a good system for someone with any kind of issue with their arms or shoulders. everyone has said you can drive ok and its only parking that you need PAS for so this would be ideal. the price fitted is a bit steep but we dont know what the development costs were or what they have set the labour rate at as there is no part only price.
on a seperate note, a lot of the mercs had a steering box with power steering so if a leccy pump was used off a fiesta or whatever then a pas box should be possible

At the moment Mark is fitting the PAS system from a Corsa on to Maurice Reeves racing mk2 Golf.

From what I've seen today I've had 2 people almost swing into me when turning left. Makes me wonder if they shouldn't have their PAS looked at :) One chap gave me such a stare when the Bruiser can to a shuddering stop like it was my fault for being on the left side of the road.
