got a fair bit of fabrication to do before it goes in, but I'll probably be using a pug electric PAS pump to run it :)

Paul I thought the system used on the bay was an electric motor on the steering column. Is that not a far simpler idea than having a modified rack?? I'm going to follow this thread to see what and how you do it.

That makes sense. I remember your post about the changes. I was beginning to think l was going mad :) But I was intrigued to see how that system would fit a standard set up. Thanks for putting my mind at rest. I can sleep easy tonight

  12. seen it already ;)

I've been planning a new front end for the last 3 years... but it has changed a fair bit in that time!! Original plan was double wishbone as per the red9 unit... red9 must've been developing theirs the same time as I was doing the initial designs for mine.... but when I saw what Neil Reid had done with his, that's when I dropped the double in favour of the install from another vehicle approach

  17. your better end mounting on to the bumper mountings as the hoops would always be in the way if not mounted on suspension mounts (which you dont want if your doing suspension work) then if you had them in front of beam you wouldnt be able to work remove/ refit doors if you were fitting arches and needed to set gaps or trial fitting wheels checking steering lock etc and behind axle tube would cause hastle when removing/refiting gearbox's or rear suspension/wheels

  18. I was thinking either end of the chassis rails... bumper mounts at the back, and possibly steering box mounts at the front....
