  1. at that price i would fit a red7 design front syspension set up with a rack and pinion. steering rack.
or just buy some dumb bells 20 quid from argos

  2. Good find, i'll be interested to see how much the supply only turns out to be.

  4. dogn dubs has theres converted to the new set up, best to turn wheel when in motion if possible.

I didn't have a shoulder problem until I got my bus!

I reckon a lot of the problem is having forgotten how to drive without power steering - I still try and turn the wheel before I'm moving.

i find the van easy to steer dunno if being on standard tyres and height helps this? i had a landy without power steering and i swear thats what has done my shoulder.

  8. We've all forgotten how to drive without power steering, as said its easier to turn when you have a bit of movement, we've all been spoilt over the years. Lowering suspention can't help much, mine's a pig to manover at low speed and park.

  9. thanks for your replies, i find it fine to drive, its all stock, i'll refurbish all the steering components as part of its resto. forgetting the price for the moment what do you think of the electric power assisted option? maybe to get the modern ride the owner is after the red9 option would be best? both lots of dosh i know.

  10. i phoned them today and they don't do a kit for a 72 bay, i don't know how the new Danbury bus differs?

  11. made of thinner metal, window seals are crap, poor manufacturing......... ;D

Oh sorry we were talking about the steering ;D

  12. lol, so what are the options available ? thanks for your input.

that's a mighty amount of money for a motor and some cogs. Gym membership won't cost that. Start eating protein boys and girls and get physical :)

  14. Looks good but that's a lot of money, my bus to be honest though isn't that heavy & its good for the biceps anyway. ;D

  15. the concept is good, the column/motor assembly a bit obtrusive maybe but if it works as well as they claim it would transform parking a bus for someone with a disabled shoulder then again is it better to spend a bit more and change thefront beam/suspension to a steerig rack and coil overs?

  16. I've seen projects where people have used the electric power steering and column from a Corsa to covert their bus to power steering.

if the shoulder is a real problem power steering will be better than a rack, i remember working for a car sales place once and this old lady came in looking for a new car with power steering, the salesman showed her a car with power steering and with all her might she could not move the steering, he showed her another car also with power steering and she could steer it very easily. the speed sensitive bit is where a lot of the expence may be ecu etc i personally would go proper power steering instead of the red9 stuff aint cheap either, the price for the power steering setup is fitted red nine is not. designing your own is fine, but if your doing it for a customer and charging by the hour its not difficult to get upto £1000. the steering on a brazil bay is king pin and linkpin so quite possible the power steerin kit wont go( though i cant imagine why not). its probably a corsa electric steering setup being used, they are reasonable compact though you would still knock your nees on it i think. why dont red 9 fit a power steering rack too?
