46 mm and a VERY long cheater bar like a bit of scaffolding. one goes the opposite it think....................
You can get a thing you smack with a lump hammer that might be cheaper, better and save the scaffold bar. Never tried one but they're highly recommended.
£11.60 posted on ebay for a half inch drive impact socket doesent seem to bad Ive a 12 volt impact gun that should shift them even if it may take 20 mins or so It worked on my flywheel nut Id be interested in seeing that thing you talk of though steve
Get a pipe wrench on it with a bit of bar mate might need to heat it up but it will go mine was tight as hell as well
You mean a slogging wrench Zed? I tried to get hold of one to do my hub nuts but couldn't get hold of one anywhere... you might struggle para, I bought a twin hammer beast of an impact wrench and they still wouldn't budge, also broke 2 1/2" breaker bars (god bless halfords professional lifetime warranty). The only thing that shifted it was a heavy duty lorry torque wrench that a mate had.
17st, a four foot long bar on the end of a 3/4" tommy bar and a 46mm socket soon gets it moving; we have never had any problem shifting them!!
Going to be worse with no engine in..... ever done one in a scrapyard ,when the van was on another car, and it had no wheels or handbrake?
Thinking about it now if i have to resort to a breaker bar and a length of tube im screwed The handbrake and the grip of the wheel on gravel aint going to hold Im going to do some aircooled meditation and give the 12 volt impact gun 20 mins on each hub nut and see how i go Probably whilst more tourists stand and stare
