Static motion I'm afraid is what makes stuff rust.
Mines been in primer for best part of 2 years but hasn't really deteriorated because for a big part of that it was used daily, a regular 60mph breeze under over and through it dries everything and changes the air in all the nooks and crannies.
When you get using it it'll rust less

  6. I'm wondering how that logic works,

Top coat and primer is 2k, it's only the base coat that's water based

I must say I was impressed by the quality of AA' piston & barrel kits, the 1915 p & b's we bought for Gusbus look very well made, barrel castings look good, pistons even better!

  11. Ive not had them out of the packet yet

Im waiting for a quiet moment in the house so i can fondle them for a while:lol:
Ive only heard good things about AA barrels and piston kits and the heads are very good aswell compared to autolinea
Have you had your pistons on the scales yet mark?

  12. Yeah i saw an inquired about that but it needed a regrind and might have even been to far gone to regrind

Not weighed them yet - Billy who works with me has ordered a set for a project he is working on, luckily the person who signed the order off told him he ought get a bigger set just in case ;)

Sorry, bigger scales!! I didn't type what I was thinking

  16. It happens with old age;)

They dont weigh much how big scales do you need?

We're going for 1000g scales which will be calibrated, none essential for piston weighing, but the project at work will need the accuracy & traceability. I think they will be calibrated to 0.5g accuracy!
    (I just signed Billy's order off)! :D

I checked my conrods with cheap postal scales that were more accurate than that! They don't need calibrating either because you don't care what they weigh, just the difference between them. ;)

Its the work project we need the calibration for, it was coincidental us ordering some scales :D

  20. I've got a set of 2l B&Ps from AA today, and one of the pistons is missing a wrist pin clip groove o_O
