  1. Cheers Diddy feels like i'm making progress now, it's such a good feeling to to be putting things back together ^-^

The new side panel arrived today for opposite the sliding door so once thats on it's pretty much finished from the b pillars back apart from the cargo floor
On the front it needs the usual front panel, deformation panel and both arches plus any other bits that need local repairs

  2. Another update for you all

This is the panel that arrived last week
    [IMG]

And this is hole that it will fill
    [IMG]

First off was to get the out sill fitted
    Preped
    [IMG]

    and fitted
    [IMG]

  3. Next was to cut the new panel to size and do some modifications to the inner support bars as the panel is for a LHD not a RHD

Support bars with the ends of the wrong side
    [IMG]

Ends cut off and rewelded to the correct side
    [IMG]

I did it this way instead of removing the whole bar and turning it round, to try and minimalise at distortion to the panel

The whole panel preped, side drilled for plug welding and the top edge joggled for welding

  4. And a few final pics of it fitted and welded in

And from inside all seem sealed up

Really happy with how it's turn out today, defo looking like a bus again now :D
    Until next time dudes

  5. nicely done dude :)

  6. very tidy dude

  7. Great work. Those side panels look really neatly done.

  8. Cheers Guys, i'm feeling positively pleased with myself now i have bus that looks like a bus again
Next job is to sort the cargo floor and remove the front arches

  9. Stu, really impressed fella. Much better with a new panel!

What was the reason you chopped the new panel below the swage instead of trimming back to the swage to have the weld where it can't be seen? Mine isn't cut back that far but it is still too far for a repair section. I was thinking of taking it under the swage runout.

  10. Very nice. Fitting big panels makes the biggest difference in a resto. ;)

  11.
  12. Took delivery of what i hope to be the last few panels needed to complete the welding on the bus

    Complete cargo floor
    [IMG]

    Deformation panel
    [IMG]

NS front arch, i already have the OS arch
    [IMG]

And tonight i'm off to pick up the new motor for the bus >:D
    [IMG]
Which is still attached to this all for 500 notes
    [IMG]

  13. Another quick update not done a lot but i have started to have at look at the front panel

Started to cut the rotten areas and fibreglass

But after a bit more poking there was only one thong to do and that was major facial surgery

The inner structure is pretty good with a few local repairs required will post more pics as i go, but it's getting hard to find time to get away work done now the nights are drawing in and the weather starting to turn

    Silver Needs points/will pay!

Massive changes since I saw you, the work looks great so far.

I have not read right through your resto yet, what happened to your garage accross the road? I know what a pain it is working on the drive :(

  15. Still got the garage across the road, it's just that's got no power to it so having to do it all on the drive
Will be pushing her back in there soon for the winter

  17. Thought of that, and using the telegraph poles etc, but if something happened the C:) would be after me
The company i rent the garage off wont let me run an extension lead across their car park, gave me some H&S garbage why they couldn't
So the drive is the only option, hopefully i'll have all the welding completed soon then i'll be sorted for the prep for paint stage

  18. Bargain price for the scooby dude

  19.
  20. its comming along, some times removing a whole panel like the front is the best option.

nice find with the scooby, at least if you run it around a bit you'll know its in good shape beforeyou drop into the bus :)
