Qiuck update on my resto I have done very little over the last few months, but i have repaired all my tins and cleaned them up ready for powder coating, temp fitted the cab doors that i got off Silver and made a start trail fitted the steel frame and runners for the viking roof beds I plan to get her back on the drive in the next couple of weeks so i can crack on with the welding
Well she's back on the drive, hoping to make some progress in the fine act of panel re-fitting over the next few weeks ;D
Well i've had a few days working on the bus and started to knock some jobs of the to do list ;D Will update will some pics tomorrow
Just caught up on this one. Looks really good. Your work on the seals and underneath looks excellent.
It's so nice to back working on the van now the weather has turned Some pics of what a managed to get done this week whilst working nights and looking the boy during the day this week I spent most of of my time cutting more rot out and doing some prep work ready for new metal But id manage to fitted the sliding door upper runner that a picked up, no pics tho removing it from the roof cut and a couple of repairs it need Sliver sorted me out the middle seat belt brackets which i've fitted Made a start on some areas that i never got round to finishing last year Before after, still needs another piece of metal welding in I've also made a start on repairing the inner rear wheel arch Front closing panel fitted Still got the rest to do but now have a cheap outer arch which i'm going to cut up and modify and use as repair panels That's it not a great deal, but i'm getting closer to fitting the outer arch and once that's on I'm good to go on fitting the rear corners, outer valance, hinge panel and battery trays and that ill be the back 1/3 of the bus done ;D
Well I've managed to a few hours on the bus today in between taking the kids to parties and swimming Made a start on the inner arch, as i didn't really what to buy a complete inner arch and the fact that no where seems to have any in stock and had to think of a plan and this what i came up with A got an outer arch from GSF and chopped it up With a lot of trail fitting, trimming, trail fitting my decent outer arch panel i ended up with a hole and a panel to fill it with Tacked it in to start and once happy fully welded it With the outer arch clamped on it looks ok, still need to finish the rear part of the inner arch and maybe trim the flange a bit, but i'm quite happy with hows it's going So hopefully this week i might get the outer arch on
Holy crap some really good worh there! Like your skills to make some of the panels specially the tricky ones
Cheers Foe I'm not 100% happy with it at the mo but once i get the outer arch on i should be able to fettle it till i'm happy
Well i managed to get the outer arch on today Took no action shoots but here are the pics of the arch fitted and a quick coat of primer Painted the inner arch and inside of the outer with por15, plenty of trail fitting followed and cut down and clamped up the rear corner to aid alignment In all well pleased with how its gone, will need a skim when the time comes but so will the rest of the van anyway Next up is to get both rear corners, outer valance and hinge panel on
Well not been able to spend as much time on the van as i hoped over the last few weeks, due to kids birthdays and a wedding I did manage to get the rear posts finished off and the chassis legs cleaned up and a splash off primer on them So thats the back end all ready for the new rear corners, hinge panel and outer valance, i've trail fitted them and with a bit of flange adjusting and a trim here and there it all go
Managed to get a few more hours in day and i thought i would have a closer look at the floor above the engine as it was pretty rusty and i had a small hole in the corner by the spare wheel well So with the wire wheel in the grinder i got cleaning this is the bottom of the spare wheel well, which is shot
