Just had our new Camper delivered today :) 1974 panel conversion.
    Long story- shortened
Had a Karmann thought it would be an easy resto ( full of rot) :(:(
Slowly started to restore it and then bought a business (no money or time ) to spend on it. So she sat in 3 different garages for 5 years, every now and again I would have another go at it and then last month I went with my wife and son to the Vw show at Stanford Hall for a bit of inspiration and a front nose section for the Karmann.
Getting towards the end of the day after seeing loads of beautiful Campers, we came across a field that had cars and campers for sale, looking around we saw a few Bays fully kitted out for sale and my wife and i said to each other, wouldn't it be nice to have a camper that was empty inside that you could kit out the way you wanted and then we came across it/her :) Empty inside and in primer !
So got talking to Bob who owned her, told him the story and he said " well maybe we could do a deal" I will take the Karmann as part payment and you can have the Camper :) So after another visit to see the Camper a deal was struck and Bob also sprayed her in the colour we wanted and MOT her as well.
So here I am with a lovely bus, not much knowledge of Campers but a good idea what I want to do with her but need help along the way and am hoping that you will be able to help me :)
I have tried to upload some pics but every time I try it comes up with an error. So first bit of help is how do I get pics on here ? do the images have to be certain size ? Ah Ha Done it !!! thanks for the help :)
    Cheers
    Chris

  3. Hello and welcome and nice introduction

I cheat with posting pics and just copy and paste the image code from a image hosting site called photobucket
Its free so you have more money to spend on the bus

Where are you located btw we may have members close to you

  6. Just thought of that as i posted it !! I will have a look how to post and get them on hopefully. Cheers :)

  7. I also post straight from my photos on my iPad or iPhone. You have to reduce them in size but will upload easy enough. Try from your photo stream images if you're using apple. :)

  12. So I think the first job will be the flooring, so any help with that would be great. I want to sound proof it then ply, then vinyl tiles. Any top tips ?? Also do I keep editing the first post or post new ones as i progress ???

  17. Madmatz do really good kits for the vinyl tiles. I used sound deadening material, looks like flashband and then 9mm exterior ply. cut it all to shape. Seal it with a few coats of good varnish, especially the cut edges and it will last for ages. Screw it down with stainless self tappers. I ran speaker cable under the floor to the rear under the floor as well.

  19. Hi,

I remembered seeing this at Sanford Hall, looks a great bus very similar to the one I've just got with a blank interior and looking forward to see how this one turns out .

  20. Nice bus and a blank canvas too :)
