Good to see you getting hands on, but for your info, the heating air ALL comes from the engine bay, it's supposed to, that's why you have a seal which will certainly keep the exhaust fumes out a bit. There should be zero smoke, oily smells, petrol fumes etc in the engine bay precisely for this reason - it ends up the cab via the heating. I think he means what does Zed do generally, not on this thread. I stick my nose in and prophesise doom fast approaching. I'm quite often right.
PS If anyone is wondering why I've been trying to get things done cheap when I had the money to buy a Late Bay to begin with its for exactly that reason - I bought my Bay. That emptied my account and then some haahaha
Well I guess that new foam seal has helped the problem Honestly though there is now zero smells or fumes or anything. I reattached a big pipe which I read had something to do with things too... Even if it didn't help the smells and fumes it still needed reattaching
no i didnt and i dont box in skips you could bring alot of posts down thou if you got up in the morning n answered earlier bruv
And what we want is to see you doing exactly what you've been doing today - saving yourself £'s of wasted garage money and finding out just how simple it all is to do yourself with a bit of help on here. The garage man would have fitted the distributor (and charged you) found the loose plug and fixed it without mentioning it and you'd have thought him a genius and also be convinced that he'd cured the popping by replacing the distributor (which if you look back we all said was almost certainly *****). You'd have been more confused about mechanics than ever. Now you know different, he's not a genius after all. If another man can do it, so can you. Seems like you've already got more idea than the mechanics you've been visiting - that didn't take long!
I honestly couldn't tell you right now, I'm away visiting family. What should they be and I'll check?
