Merry Christmas to you Baz, to Malc and everyone on TLB. Maybe we could leave to politics to one side, for a day or so at least. God bless us everyone!

Like I say, you reap what you sew. It wasn’t aimed solely at you.

Merry Christmas to you too Bazza

No one else was bleating so it was aimed solely at me so because I voted for the current government you have decided I'm right wing anti immigration anti European and a hypocrite
    Love you too Malc
If our player was racially abused I stand by what I said it's pathetic and disgusting and I don't racially abuse anyone

Firstly it wasn’t aimed solely at you there’s one or two more posting here paying lip service to anti racism while having bleated on about brexit and anti immigration for yonks.

Secondly you support one of the clubs with the most right wing supporters this country has. I refer of course to the headhunters and those nazi signs on their flags that your club has happily put up with for 40 years to my knowledge, the other racist stuff I know about and other things that’s made headlines recently. To suddenly be up in arms about another set of supporters doing it is very hypocritical. I’m guessing you’re not a racist and are probably of the majority, but it begs the question why hasn’t it stopped at Chelsea FC in 40 years?

Why hasn’t it stopped in this country?

Try being married to an italian and putting up with some of the snide remarks aimed at my wife and ( mixed race kids  ) in the guise of humour for a while and you might see how I get upset about it and how unacceptable the present environment in this country is.

I don’t mind calling someone out that I like or have had good relations with Bazza and if you’re upset by that then so be it.

I'm not upset just surprised I've been going to Chelsea for 55 years and I'm in a position to tell you things have changed at Chelsea, I don't hear racist chanting at my club I'm not saying it went on in the past but it doesn't now, it's like saying Germany were Nazis so they still are today

I've been going to Chelsea with my mates Neville who's black and Danny who's Indian for over 40 years ask them if they feel intimidated

  9. There is no place for any form of racism in any walk of society today... have we learned nothing? We are all human beings after all!

  10. I just don’t have time to discriminate against people for the colour of their skin, these days it just takes up so much of my time being a religious bigot.

I think you’ll find the law against racism and cctv monitoring has had a lot to do with it going underground at football stadia and not anything the club or it’s supporters implemented freely. It’s a shame it has to be dealt with by law and not people’s own free will, but it has been rife in football and sadly your lot have been top of the list all the time I’ve been watching football.
I’m glad your friends don’t feel intimidated, but I wonder if newcomers would feel the same?

One thing that's come out of this thread is how you see me, one day we will meet up for a beer and you'll see I'm not the hypocrite you think I am

  13. I’ve personally seen supports tell another home supporter to tone his language down as there were women and children nearby. Fair play to him he did, just got a bit caught up in the heat of the moment. I’ve got no doubt that If someone at Chelsea or Spurs was out of order he’d be told to shut up by those around him and if not ejected from the club.

there’s a text number advertised at Spurs so fans can discreetly text the club if they have concerns during a game and then the police will remove the individuals.

to say that the fans have nothing to do with the change in attitudes at grounds simple isn’t accurate.

it’s years and years since I’ve seen any trouble at A game or in surrounding pubs etc.

the last home game I went to a couple of away fans ended up in a pub next to the ground that is all home fans. They watched the cricket with us and had a few drinks bough for them and then walked to the stadium with the home supporters.

I have no doubt about that I’ve took to you from the beginning, but this thread coming from a Chelsea supporter seems very hypocritical, even if it was well intentioned. I tried my hardest not to comment, but felt I wouldn’t be being honest if I didn’t. I’ll always buy you a beer Bazza.

even if it has been edited to bits ;)

obviously it has got better, but it has only been since the report on Hillsborough and the changes bought in since. If it had carried on as it was the sport would be gone. It’s nicer now I agree.
