I like beer but don’t always want alcohol, or if I’m out and the designated driver I don’t want to drink fizzy drinks all night but prefer something that tastes like beer-ish. There are lots of variety now. Where we lived in Spain a bar would often have the no/low alcohol beer on tap.
All this talk of veggies and fascists and not a mention of Hitler. Standards are slipping TLB. BTW @Barneyrubble good to see you are OK, was beginning to worry.
Ditto, i’m a veggie but love meat. I gave up long ago after visiting an abattoir through work (cue southern softie responses). I stopped being a veggie for a while after craving bacon sarnies, so anything that replicates bacon, sausages etc keeps me from straying. It’s a personal choice, but when I first stopped in the 80s a veggie meal was a cheese salad, and the choice today is amazing. Live and let live
I read yesterday that Ginsters are now making a meatless pasty, bless them. Just hope it’s not just potatoes in pastry.
Always surprised me the lack of veggie options back then when for instance the Suffrage cookbook, the first printed in the 1890s was mostly veggie if not all. Also the majority of the population couldn't afford meat on a daily basis. Surprising how quickly knowledge is lost.
...cos Hitler was vegetarian???? Nope.. he wasn’t! But I’m sure there have been other vegetarian genocidal despots. The two aren’t mutually exclusive!
Learn summat new everyday, always thought he was. Probably the same propaganda machine that gave us such gems as incorrect number of testes
Apparently had a bowel issue so avoided meat... I would hazard a guess that he wasn’t pleasant to be around for a few reasons. That bunker must have stunk!
And short with dark hair. I thought his ‘perfect race’ were all meant to be blond and ‘perfect’. So why did he dream that up, I wonder... and Volkswagens...
Mmm... I used to firmly agree with this and would ridicule anyone drinking it... but... there are some decent tasting low or no alcohol beers out there - Adnams Ghost ship for instance and on draft , I’d much rather drink that before driving instead of a glass of fizzy pop
