The colour tune comes with an adapter tube which has a very small mirror at the end. It's a bit of a chew on but well worth it. I had my doubts but it realy does work. 25 mpg on a long run at 55-60 mph
Like your bus, I nearly bought one from karmman Konnection but I decided to buy a rotten one instead, don't paint it though it looks cool how it is 8)
Thanks folks, Well having successfully used the bus for RTTH Woo hooo, and the long drive (7 hours due to traffic) there and the shorter drive home,(with a couple of hairy moments, fuel pump stopping on the M1 and starter not starting after a stop for tea fixed with a hammer to mrs MH's suprise ) it has bought to the fore some things i need to do, some of which i knew and a couple i didn't. My to do list at the moment - Steering too much play, unadjustable on box - new steering box Fitted Brakes- too hard servo problem? New servo fitted hot start relay or starter motor Fitted fuel pump relay leisure battery split charge relay and all the gubins to go with itfitted Headlining On order from C&C Window rubbers windscreen bulge under windscreen door seals (temp fix on the slider with noeprene sticky strip worked a treat for RTTH) rear lower rear arch repair battery tray blow over/respray hole bus change one length of curtain rail in the cab, its just a bit too tight to get the gliders round. I'm sure theres more, i'll add to this list and tick things off as i do them, but all in all very pleased with the old girl
from what i've seen of your pic's it looks a useable bus and hopefully you can continue to use it as you resto it, i too have a "list" but i'm hoping to do all mine inside during Nov to March funds allowing....glad you enjoyed your 1st trip and i look forward to seeing you and yours one day during the year/next year.
Thanks Mark it'll be nice to get the headliner up as i couldn't help but feel i was breathing in lots of the 37 year old matting that is stuck to roof bleugh Ricky, its a shame you couldn't have made it to RTTH, but yeah hope we can meet up at another show soon. The problem i have with doing some of that list is one bit leads another in that i've got to take the windows out to do the headliner whilst they're out i should change the rubbers whilst thats out it would make sense to blow in the white part of the bus at least, to do that i need to replace the bulge under the windscreen so one job leads to another and weeks work that needs good weather! Doh!
Yes mate it's a shame i couldn't come it looked fun, i know what you mean about jobs, my van isn't as good in the flesh as some of my pic's suggest, my rubbers are all shot too and the headlining needs doing, i'm deffo getting the screen and rear screen out over winter but luckily i can store it inside, i'm sure we'll meet up soon, next year for deffo i'll try to plan my hobby on the weekends that the main vw meets are not held!
MH dude I would remove the paint on the wheel contact area of the drum The heat of the brakes can soften the paint and allow enough room to take the tension of the wheel nuts so they become loose
