I have heard only good things on customer services from john lewis and apple . Your contract is , in the first place with john lewis , contact them as soon as possible and make them aware you have a problem with a purchase and seek advise on how they wish you to return the goods to them , with luck it will be a smoth process to get the item back up and running . Alternatively as mentioned above book an appointment for an apple genius to look it over and assist in sorting the problem out . Apple were great with relatives visiting from aussy , he had a 10 month ipad playing up after he arrived her , he took it to a apple store they gave him a brand new newer version and backed up everything to it for him , they even opologised for the original one going wrong . The worst thing to do is dump it in a cupboard and forget it , its a waste of your hard earnt and a great product
@oscar see that @Sproggy4830 trying to hijack your thread. Scunthopre was filtered in as @Ermintrude asked nicely.
Jesus this post has moved on since I was here last. I see there are a few mac lovers on here a few wannabe lovers on here a few closet ones who won't admit to it and a few haters. It's good to have a mix of different people. Thanks for all the advice I'm off n Wednesday so going to make a Genius appointment with apple in Bristol to see what they say and take the John Lewis receipts with me as they are only a few doors down the mall.
Just to clear it up I am not a wannabe as I already have an iMac which has been a fantastic bit of kit, I will now be buying one of their laptops to make me a multiple lover
If the coming Wednesday is you only choice, you might want to have made the appointment before now. They do get busy. But you may be lucky
I'm a lost cause. I won't list the Apple stuff we have around here because it makes me sound like a branch of the Apple Store (although a lot of it goes back a few years, including a 733Mhz G4 PowerMac Quicksilver which still works!!) but I will point out that amongst all the kit, the only thing I don't have is an iPhone. Don't like 'em, don't want one. Strange, eh?
I can sell you a vintage Apple Newton, including keyboard & a heap of software. This, children, is what soured me on Apple & its products. I loved the Newton & had it been developed after Jobbie returned I would probably be an Apple fanboy today
Yes, it's a shame about the Newton. However, I think if you look at the direction it went when it ditched all those old things, you can definitely see why Jobs was worth all that money......
