I know it's been covered, but I'm very keen on doing a Scooby conversion. Is that better?

  15. If fellows do a diesel conversion i will definately go for it! that would mean me driving the bus over from Sweden and all that hassle!
My daily driver is a 2010 legacy diesel wagon and boy is it a nice car! on long trips i get 5.4liters/100km and that is with 2 adults, ski box and loaded with luggage!
Around town with no ski box i get 6.2liters/100km and that is good too, dont ask me what that is in mpg! but it would be good!
COME ON FELLOWS JUST DO IT!
Funny! i dont even have a bus yet but still making plans.lol!

  16. the dweisel scoobys fetch a lot of cash though..:gnome:

  17. yes but you will probably pick one up off ebay that no-one else has spotted for about £200!!!

  18. Stop it, you're causing contention here that's going to lead to divorce.

    Fellowes aren't fitting a flat 4 diesel, it's an A4/mk 3 era VAG diesel.

The Subaru flat 4 diesel was only put in to cars since 2009, these cars and engines are too new to be picked up for pennies, unlike the petrol engines. (cheapest car on auto trader is £6450, maybe written off ones cheaper but chances of a rear or side smash car, on what is a rare car anyway, are slim).

I think new common rail diesels (I.e ones with decent power ratios and mpg) are a rare conversion, in which case we are back to the 90bhp previous generations diesels.
