Quit a year ago after 30 years smoking and toking.
    It's not so hard...to stop.
    You know it makes sense.
Both my uncles died from smoking.

We both gave up at least 10 plus year ago. Still fancy a roll up with a beer if we're camping and all the kids have gone to bed..... Mostly we're glad we stopped though

  7. Both parents smoked so I hated it .Nicked a ciggie off them when I was 12 and smoked it in my bedroom and blew the smoke out the window through the mozzie screen.Hated it.Flatted with my best mate after high school who started smoking....she had her first chemo last week for cancer of the windpipe...

Good call. The occasional cigar is allowed to non-smokers :D

Yes ,, I think?.... I thought it was Alan Carr though but I won't argue with you. Mainly deals with the psycho side of it all. Quite a few ideas in there that made it easier to pack up and more importantly to stay packed up. I don't think anyone could baulk at the cost of it especially if they are paying for ciggies, I read it slowly over a period of a few months, don't know if that helped maybe, I even was only reading it initially out of boredom while in a hotel away from home doing a job course.

Ozziedog ,,,,,,promised myself 'not' to become the ex smoker know all from hell!;)

I think the really useful stuff in the Alan Carr book could be fitted on one side of A4. We both used it mind and neither of us has fallen off the cigs wagon thus far

Have said this many times over the years in here I think.

Gave up two week before the ban "coz no one tells me what to do!"

My dad died a few weeks after that and although was monumentally *******ed for two weeks still didn't have one. Thought that if I passed that test then didn't need another one.

    Not had one since.

The smell of people after just smoking is bad.
The smell of stale smoke is bad.

The smell of a freshly lit one while walking behind someone on the street - now that is a different matter!!!!

    Still none (no weed either)

Yep. Basically it says don't look at it as "giving up". Look at it as stopping.
There you go, I didn't need anything like a side of A4!

  18. Tried it twice when I was younger, worst thing I've ever done. I remember thinking the second time "why am i doing this again?" Really don't understand it's appeal and don't know how people keep doing it when they first start.

  19. smoked for 18 years (started late at 22, daft really) but gave up after a bout of man flu, terrible affliction!! weird that all the gum and patches did nothing but a bad cold sorted me out. Occasionally, usually after a few beers mr nicotine finds his way back to me, but not bought any in 5 years, so mostly pinch off others out on the *******!

  20. Like a chimney for 30 years .. I need to quit. ;).
