also guys thinking of hot rodding my bay any ideas and has anyone got pics of any for inspiration ? also would like ideas for interior
I can see where your coming from, i love a hot rod ( not in a man love kind of way) One of the most important things that makes a hot rod is the nose down stance, difficult with a bay ; The rear arches have got to go , flared is mandatory as well ! Not an easy look to pull off with a loaf tin on wheels good look with this one
yeah well already got a nose down stance but was thinking of narrow slammed safari windows fabricating so its completely custom then candy paint slash cut exhaust either side comming vertical
I'll tell you when you've done it. It you cut up the rear arches it'll annoy the purists, so I'd say good. It was all the rage to hot-rod splitties in the 70's. There's a guy lives local to me did his at the time and still has it, though his tyres aren't as fat as in it's heyday. The more people tell him he should restore it back to og arches the more determined he is to keep it like it is.
Tintop bay with early bumpers Satin black body with red bumpers Red wheels with baby moon hubcaps and white wall tyres Slammed at the front with a slightly raised rear and wider track at the rear
Now you have got me thinking ! 1970, slot mags and lots of chrome because thay suit a 1970's van. But suspension set as high as it will go and all terrain tyres , a nod to the syncro bay that never was. Oh god i've created Frankenstein's monster
Hmmm inverted horseshoe plates on the rear and a pair of thick and braced plates to sit the front beam further away from the chassis rails That would give a good enough lift to make room for some serious tyres
