Handbrake warning light

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by bertie78, Apr 27, 2013.

  1. Hi all,
trying to sort out the little bits of wiring that don't work on Bertie .... Handbrake warning light.
I have attached a few pics can someone tell me what's missing please.... I have a yellow& white wire on the one connection coming out of the push switch at the handle end that runs up to the back of the warning light but what goes on the other connection is it a live that's missing .
Also what's then missing off the back of the warning light holder ... There are 2 small connections one is marked with a K and the other is the number19.... So does a live run from one of these to the handbrake push switch....
    Any help great fully received.

vintagebus.com for colour wiring diagrams. I wired one up a few weeks ago but I don't remember what went where... I did do it from the diagram though. :)

  5. Don't forget it's also your brake pressure warning light as well!

  6. Ok... So how does that work then

Wires. Look on the wiring diagram.

  8. Thanks for that

  9. Never you mind...it's secret ;)

You've got two brake light switches on the master cylinder (one for each brake circuit), instead of a single one. If one circuit doesn't operate when you stomp on the pedal, the "B" light comes on.

  10. Thanks Snotty

  11. Or get a crossover. I do not have one of them lights. (Very jealous). Good luck with the fix.

  12. should also have the 3 pin brake light switches on the MC instead of the 2 pin ones (only way the warning light will work)

  13. So that's what's it's for! I did wonder. :)

  14. Cheers guys,
    Greatly appreciated

  16. Cheers guys
Just got to learn how to read this wiring diagram now

  17. Fried my Alternator fitting mine so be careful!

  18. Tis easy. If you can find the switch and the warning light thing on the diagram, it should show wiring colours and terminal numbering ("30", "K", etc).

  19. how?

  20. Indeed, how?
