The only time I broke down in stopping way was because of that pump, but I hit it and it started again. Then I looked into it and bought it some new points for £1.50 or something silly. Of course now you have to chuck a modern pump and fork ou £70. We are but sheep to be fleeced ...
I use theCB Rotary Fuel Pump wired through a fuel injection pump relay. The pump runs for a couple of seconds once the ignition is turned on and then the relay needs ignition pulses before it runs permanently, if the engine stalls the pump stops. A cheaper (but still quiet) alternative to the CB is the Weber low pressure fuel pump. http://www.dellorto.co.uk/merchandi...p?PartNo=WFP502&CategoryID=8&PartsectionID=18
