Fuel Hose Type

  1. Future proof is what i think

Ill splash the extra money to pay for the top grade fuel hose why be replacing fuel hose when you could be camping?

Only problem ive found with the correct diameter tube but in modern grade is pulling it off a connection at the side of the road
Once that stuff is on its a fecker to remove

Im going to try a piece 0f r9 hose in 6 mm to see how it is compared to the kit i bought off the net
I need to be able to remove fuel pipes easily out on the moors as the breakdown services wont recover from green lanes

  2. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

I'd go for future proof too. Petrol keeps changing. I use the marine grade, but only because I have a cheap supplier.

  3. BUMS!!! After the Fuel Line Mayhem guess what I used to replace the hoses. Ah well, you live and learn and it keeps the economy ticking over.:) What the SP with neoprene hose? I know its suitable for break fluid, I ve got a fair bit spare.

  4. Just to add. Use proper hose clamps not jubilee clips. Whilst jubilees are OK they don't close up in a circle, more egg shaped. This is more pronounced relative to the diameter when it is small such as fuel lines.

  5. If you do get 6mm, make sure it's true 6mm, as a lot of places sell 1/4in as 6mm, and it's nearer 6.5mm

  6. ^this. And it doesn't clamp up well.

All stuff from, say, Gates or Codan these days should be true metric, but worth checking (esp Gates).
