It now seems to be running although not at its best, but when pulley off it has got no guts. I think it may be carbs
A number of us had issues with the small plastic filters from Heritage. The element expanded inside and cut off the fuel flow. Well worth checking the filter given its the only thing you changed
Hi I have reverted back to old filter has I wasn't having issues with it. It's running but just not as sweet as it should. When pulling off you can tell it just doesn't feel right. Hard to explain but feels lumpy/ rich/ gutless?
It could be a small bit of muck has found its way to one of the idle jets. If they are ICT's You can get to the LH idle jet easily but not the RH one, as the fan housing gets in the way.
Hi I have solex twin carbs and know nothing about setting adjuster or even cleaning them. Never had a running issue before and just don't understand why I am having a problem with them. When I replaced the filter I hose clamped the ends to help to avoid a issue.
Hi I have removed both carbs and put the air line through a little, put back together but still the same. Runs lumpy then cuts out unless I throttle it a little.
Almost certainly you have a bit of the inside of the pipe stuck in either the float valve or idle jet of one carb.
I am not familiar with the solexes, but you need to start with the idle jets, but as Zedders says the most likely candidates are the needle valves as they are very small and will block with only a small piece of rubber.
Hi I am just trying to find out what types of solex carbs I have and hopefully get a diagram to find out where the jets/valves are. Any info on solex carbs appreciated.

Does it smell petrolly when it's coughing and farting? That would point to something stuck in float valve, which is also the first place for a slither of rubber to get stuck. This is quite common.
Can you tell us what the carbs are. Does it say PDSIT 34 on them? I would suspect it is easier to see on the LH carb
