  1. nail on head - Team Player! As it panned out his request wasn't appropriate however he wouldn't be party to the information we have watching the race and all he asked for was some teamwork to thwart his rival. clearly that wasn't going to happen but how was he to know. If you want to discuss bad sportsmanship your efforts would be better directed at Vettel. I'm a huge fan but you cant deliberately drive into an opponents vehicle and get away with it. He should have been black flagged for that. And it would be a simple task to ascertain whether Hamilton braked into the corner (although clearly vettel accelerated into the back of him) from the telemetry!)

Im calm btw but I do note the anyone but Hamilton bias and wonder why that is.

I'm hugely indifferent to F1, and I like Hamiltons skill and single mindedness....but he has zero class in victory or defeat.

Rossi is as talented and hungry, but is loved by pretty much everyone (that isn't Spanish) because he has human moments.

I appreciate I'm seeing Hamilton from a distance true fans don't see and content that were I to have better info I might be wrong, but to the average bystander he's undoubtedly successful and talented but also a fair amount of a bell end.

  3. they all seem like bell ends when at the top and it takes a few years in the wilderness for them to get some humility. Plus they are briefed and conditioned to say the right things. They only seem to be human once they stop giving a poop! Alonso is a brill example of that!

  4. ^ this. they are completely separate teams with completely separate, different cars. only thing they share is ownership.

as to WHY one company needs two F1 teams, who knows?!

  5. I think if you really want to succeed in this sport there is a need for an element of ruthlessness. I think Hamilton has this to some extent but nowhere near some previous champions. Schumacher (twice) deliberately crashed in to rivals in the final race of the season as did Senna with Prost.

In terms of this particular race though, i think Hamilton didn't put a foot wrong. He was untouchable in qually and would have won easily if it wasn't for the problem with the headrest. There was no "brake test" - it's perfectly normal for the lead car to choose when he'll accelerate; vettel was at fault for the first collision and should have been black flagged for the deliberate ramming.

Even if Hamilton HAD brake testing him (which he didn't) that still would not have justified using your car as a weapon.

It's to give their "Acadamy Drivers" a foothold into F1. McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari do the same albeit by letting their juniors race for a lower ranked team ...... Wehrlien at Sauber is paid by Mercedes.

Vettel was being a ***** and should have been Black flagged or DQ'd post-race or had a race ban.
Mind you, look what Schumacher used to get away with, and Prost come to think of it.

I disagree he ran into the back of Hamilton. Hamilton didn't slow down.

  15. Perfectly normal - he's waiting for the safety car to clear before he decides when to accelerate. No different to any other guy leading a re-start after a safety car. It's up to all the following cars to keep pace. He's not allowed erratic speed up/slow down but keeping a consistent speed is what he did which is exactly what he's meant to do :)

  16. Agree - They`re all as bad as each other to be honest - Vettel would have done the same , it`s called gamesmanship :D
    As i see it ...
Look at the restart from the previous safety car , Vettle got left for dead . He wasn`t going to let that happen again so stuck to Hamilton like glue and paid the price . Don`t forget , Hamilton dictates the pace - Vettel screwed up but isn`t man enough to admit it .

The headbutt was out of order but looks like he got away with a slap on the wrist . Less high profile drivers probably wouldn`t .

Heard the BBC press pen interview this afternoon on catch up. Vettel has obviously been listening to some of our slopey shoulders politicians....

Asked about rear ending Ham, he was vocal on how he'd been brake tested and was in the right. Then asked about the head butt, he said two words and was straight back to talking about how Hamilton should receive a penalty for driving too slowly!

I think these two will make up and hopefully Vettel will be a bit more honest about it next race. The good natured rivalry has been quite refreshing after last years nastiness

  18. Did you mention politics..... steady!
