Thanks massive help i assumed some1 had left it disconected . Another question some 1 has blocked fan housing with can caps instead of having tubes to heat exchangers .because of empi exhaust ? Should i put them back on ? Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
From the state of your engine (coated in oil) and the use of that filter on the oil breather which may be responsible for a large part of it, it's likely the heating was sealed up after oily smoke/vapour was blown into the cab. When you've cured the cause I'd reconnect fan housing to heat exchangers and drive it a few hundred miles, then put the concertina pipes back to complete the system.
Okay got it thanks i disconected them yest to take engine out so leave them of for a while sorry sound stupid all new to me Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
As others have said ditch that air filter and exhaust. My engine had the same on and going back to stock made a big difference Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Now intend to after advise currently looking. Ideas on decent exhaust? Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Someone previously felt the need to do "something" in the engine bay didn't they? Changing the exhaust and air filter despite being erroneous is cheap and probably gave them a kick. They probably even convinced themselves it went/sounded better. The rest of it looks totally stock, you have the steel fuel line for example. As a bonus, a stock exhaust will make the heating more effective and easier to connect up.
As you were/are cleaning up, did you work out where that oil all over the top of the case came from? It looks like it's leaked for a while quite badly and the fresh wet look of it probably indicates that it's still leaking. Before you started dismantling the top of the engine looked pretty dry? so I don't think it's from the breather filter - that usually mists everything including the fan housing. If you don't find the cause, it could up back in the state you found it in short order. I'm only saying could because for all I know you spilt half a cup of oil on it prompting this clean up. .
Yeh it was all covered no didnt find out plan to clean all change all gaskets and see what happens Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Quite easy to do it again if you have to? Type-1 for the win here, in a week's time when you've removed, stripped, "cured the leak", reassembled and refitted 6 times, you'll have the whole process down to an hour and a half. I did.
A stock exhaust would be a good move but avoid the cheapo/repro ones , they're usually a terrible fit .... Good ones are ERNST (spelling ??) But if you can find a DECENT genuine one they're a perfect fit . @davidoft maybe ?? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Another question in book it say set valves to .006 . So is that the gauge with 6 on it .? Spark plugs it say .025 so is that 1 with 25 on it ? Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
So give us all a clue , are they metric or imperial gauges ? Probably imperial but I've gotta ask .... If imp then yes - the one marked as '6' . Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
