All well after the the scrimping and saving mine came to £298 gas and £98 for electric for month of December . Basically £400. A bit tasty seeing as heating only on in evening and set to 18C with log burner on on weekends. Stove top kettle, making efforts to use gas hob instead of oven etc etc etc only luxury is dehumidifier set at RH50% for campervan in garage
I'm now charging all my batteries at my clients house We haven't used the electric Kettle for months, hope that's enough.. Fingers crossed Sent from my ART-L29 using Tapatalk
On New Year's eve my smart meter said £298. And I have 4.5kw solar which does put a dent in my bills, but not so much in the month with the shortest days of the year. I've yet to get the bill.
My workshop has cost £400 a month for the last 3 months, leccy only This time last year I was paying £40 a month tops
Yes. Bearing in mind like most people we've dropped the thermostat a couple of degrees and limited the times it can come on.
What with the interest rate rises that haven’t even filtered through to the economy for the mortgage holders and the energy bills and the wider inflationary issues…. I think I may be @Mattyskintboy for 2023…
They have been desperate for an excuse to increase charges for years and the banks have been chomping at the bit to increase interest since the ppi bashing. Russia gave them the excuse. It won’t go back to how it was before.
Agreed. They've all been looking for an excuse to cut costs and boost profits and for them Ukraine is the gift that keeps on giving.
4 bed detached built in 1950s. Detached bit won’t help of course. Cavity wall loft pretty well insulated, double glazing. Condensing boiler 8 year old
I have always been reluctant to have the cavity walls insulated here, some of the press isn't favourable, damp issues etc. I do however think it might be something I have to have a look into in more detail ready for next winter.
Since @Barry Haynes fitted that large magnet to our electricity meter, our bills have dropped considerably
