In the middle picture, does the air filter element look twisted?

  2. It's difficult to see in your pics .but your linkage looks wrong .. if you have off set manifolds the Linkage bar needs to be parallel to the manifolds to allow equal opening .. your rose joints on the left are at their extremes and won't help . It's imperative the carbs open equal all the way through their range

  3. A (serious) suggestion. Take the crossbar linkage off, stick it on eBay, and fit a CSP centremount. They're painless.

  4. I run a similar setup to the csp and it's been fine

  5. I have the hex bar linkage but had to reengineer it which included switching out the imperial hex bar for metric as being slightly bigger had less slop , also bushed the ends .....it's been fine

Do you have to swap the carbs over and put the linkage at the bulkhead side with the csp

  7. Shouldn't need to - what Dells have you got? The CSP for Dellortos has arms that pull in different directions. Single mounting on one of the crankcase studs - 20 mins work. Throttle cable goes into the tube at the right angle as a bonus. If you're getting one, worth buying the return spring as well, in case your cable is a bit draggy.

You'd need new air filters and spacers (from CSP), but if your current linkage is CB, should have a few bob in hand if you sell it.

Got the CB kit on DRLAs but never been totally happy with it. Never been able to find a CSP kit for DRLAs even on the CSP site and I've emailed Euro carb as well.

Also, can I not just keep my CB air filters??

Also, also, when I say CSP I mean bell crank style, not hexbar.

  11. Pic shows my bellcrank. Works fine with my DRLA40s. They must sell them, as I bought one ;). The arms at the base are on opposite sides of the column, so push/pull in different directions.

Your CB filters may well work. The issue with plain flat-bottomed filters is that the fuel banjo bosses hit the bottom of the filter, so it won't sit flat, hence the white spacers you can see. As I recall, the CBs have a recess in the castings to accommodate the boss. CB is nice kit, I just don't like crossbars: too much hassle.

You weren't to know. I should never presume as my old boss used to preach.

These look much better than hexbar. So simple. I'm surprised no one has come up with an off the shelf kit for dells/type 4

  19. The uni sync cable ones are clever as well and allow for expansion
