You said your wife doesn't talk to her father. mgbman said his daughter has estranged herself. I was just putting two and two together.
Mums worry about sons I think the same way dads worry about daughters. Mine's off at uni now so I've solved it by simply bugging his room. That's ok isn't it?
Its not just me, my daughter has chosen to distance herself from her Mum and my Son as well. and she has nothing to do with my son's children so they don't know much about her. She has missed out on their growing up. Maybe its because she and her husband chose not to have children. The odd thing is my daughter sends me cards. She came to see me on her own about 4 years ago and we went out for the day and had lunch at Penshurst Place and lots of catch up chatting. Nothing since and I have given up trying. Now she has gone to live in Italy for 4 years with her Royal Navy husband.
Well listen to all your worries. Just imagine what sort of greeting I got when I turned up with some ones daughter all those years ago
No, it is absolutely NOT OK! Well that's what I said to the freelance bodyguard/private eye I've hired to keep an eye on my daughter.
Seriously though, where do you start with the protection stuff? Before boyfriends/girlfriends? March into the headmistress'office on your child's first day at school and warn them that you have "a particular set of skills" and there will be consequences if they don't take care of your kid?
I heard on a recent news story that the main reason teachers and head teachers were leaving was the trouble and abuse they were getting from the parents. In contrast to my personal story above, my neighbours still look after their two age 30 plus daughters at home along with their live in boyfriends. Their Mum worries about them leaving home. Well why would they leave when its rent and full board free of charge and the washing and ironing done. and good old Dad bought them nice new cars and put petrol in them. Live in boyfriends may be the answer, keep an eye on them.
I still live with my folks, but pay rent and do my own laundry and cooking etc. We all get on pretty well and the house is far nicer than anywhere I'd be able to afford if I were to move out. They are both retired but have very active social lives so we don't actually see very much of each other. My boyfriend comes to stay some weekends Sent from my XT1072 using Tapatalk
My daughter is 13 she came home about a month ago and announced she had a boyfriend, I asked about him and she said he had a car, I said how old is he and she said 13, I said where does he drive it and she said around the estate, I was a bit shocked and told her he would get in a load of trouble driving around a housing estate, she told me there were no houses on the estate and I clicked, I have since met him,,,,,, he's ginger!!! Nice lad though.
Just slaggin', @PIE obviously meant the lad lives on a country estate. Reminds me of when the late Marquis of Waterford went into a Pharmacy when asked his address, he said Curraghmore Estate, the girl behind the counter asked what number? Enjoy the few tipples, I'm only jealous as I'm at work.
But your ace & apart from the oily finger marks on the white paintwork I would imagine a delightful daughter to your parents... My sister was a complete cow to everyone and was always winding my mum up and arguing mostly due to the wasters she called boyfriends, she made some shocking choices over the years! Even the one she married & had her first daughter with would take her last tenner out her purse & tip it down his neck leaving her with nothing for 4 days! I have no idea why I'm not doing time currently after some of her bad choices over the years! I like the option a mate went for as his daughter walked up the street with her new boyfriend, he opened the boot of his car & pulled out a chainsaw
I over reacted in the same way with my goddaughter!!! Just turned 14!, then had to apologise after I thought about it!! God only knows how protective I'd be if I had my own daughter!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh I thought as she said he is ginger he was a pikey and no houses because it's caravans Didn't think country estate.
Maybe you're right, we're both making assumptions @PIE will have to clarify. To be honest I hope I'm right.
That made me chuckle, it must have been massively different then . But you have proved someone wrong and someone right. Ozziedog,,,,,,,,Long process this learning business
