Daisy's 1968 deluxe beetle full restoration

What paint did you use for the axles and suspension? Was it just chassis black?

 

It was on my camper mate but this is hammerite smooth just had it left over from a job so it was free !! Amd free is good

 

Not much this week as been feeling a bit meh but got the energy back again now had a delivery and and lead (off a Tlb member not sure who )on a 68 shell that's being chopped up near me so hope it comes off

Got home today managed to make a lift for the chassis to seam seal and just gotta finish cleaning off the tunnel and I'll rub pans down and a good heavy stone chip coat on the bottom then crack on building the chassis up !! Have allso been making a few lists for body getting a few bits in ready to begin the body which looking at it I'm looking forward to

 

Allso Mrs Daisy managed to get some gas through her work for £80 should last a while

What's the gas ? I don't recognise the colours ?

 

I got a pure argon once by mistake, that was crap.

As it was a favour he just filled up any bottle for me I believe it's cougar 5 or 5 - 1 welding gas

 

Iv an acount on there but never go on there myself this is here it's at

 

It's just a bottle I borrows mate as its out back door !!

Had a few hours today while Mrs Daisy was out doing a wedding
Well I suprised even myself it's now back on its own wheels "on the road"
Fitted both brake backing played and new discs X1 new wheel bearing rest was ok and X2 new rear seal all greased up and back on its wheels !!
Allso cleaned off underneath and stone chipped after I'd rubbed the pans down

And then had a good tidy up but was such a nice day I fort I may as well make a start on this body
So removed all glad and other x2 wings and front bumper !
Then started at the front and removed the rot drilled out all the spot welds and have a part front end to fit and the pannel and it fits spot on !!
