  1. Yes, spray the filters with thin air filter oil (not engine oil).

Yes, if the filters are designed to be oiled, then you should oil them to catch the dust.

  3. Thx guys, I will get some off ebay.

  4. I got a bottle of the K&N stuff. It’s nice’n’purpley

  5. Does anyone know the actual size of the Jam Nuts (3397 & 3398 on the image).

@scrooge95 did you recent purchase come with these?

CB performance told me All I know is that they are 10/32nd's. I don’t have any more info.

So I bought some 10-32 UNF Imperial Hexagon Nuts (left and right hand thread) and neither fit!

It may be the thread rather than the size?

  6. Get your ruler out and measure the outer (major) diameter of the thread in inches. “10/32” of an inch is slightly crazy - almost 8mm.

    10-32 means a number 10 screw (3/16”) with 32 threads per inch.

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

You could tap it out to a larger metric size?

  8. 10-32 is unified fine pitch. There is a unified coarse: 10-24. If your screws are 3/16”, you need to find out how many threads per inch there are.

  11. Them ones, Sarah. As a service to humanity, get your ruler out and measure outside of the thread of the rod in inches.

There is the slight wrinkle that one nut probably has a left-hand thread :)

Could I use some form of calliper rather than a ruler? I think I've got a set and never really found anything that required them, it would be quite the exciting Tuesday evening....

  13. Steady on! Tuesday nights in Fordingbridge - wahaaay ;)!

Yep, measure with your calipers to get a decimal inch measurement.

  15. Look at you with both jam nuts! I envy you

If one appears Gold it is the left hand thread jam nut.
    Silver are right hand thread

No need to measure anything for me, @snotty & @Zed have come up trumps already

  17. I've got the downlinks here from my old CB linkage @paulcalf , I seem to remember that a metric spanner fitted them across flats, not that really tell us very much, and yes, if memory serves correctly, one is a left handed thread.

Throw it over Rich's fence, is my advice ;)

  18. Hopefully. You might have probs finding a LH thread nut, tho’.

I decided to throw caution to the wind and measure them anyway… it’s just one big excitement after another here at ‘Chez Scrooge95’!

    ….yeah, they’re 3/16”
Well that’s just about made my week, I’ve been useful and it’s only Tuesday, wooooo ;)
