If the tank is low, you could drain it, although if it's half a tank or more, you will need a lot of cans... The carbs look like ICT 's.. the needle valve is in the top half of the carb body, so you have to take the top of the carbs off.
Where the pipe is with the jubilee, follow it to a tee. Clamp it on the feed side of the tee, get a garage to it .
@Merlin Cat before you do anything, tap the top of the float chambers with the handle of a screwdriver the floats valves are probably stuck
Replacing the needle valves on ICTs is easy. You will need paper gaskets for the tops and needle valves. They are sized so you will need to know what size they are. That is stamped on the valves. They are removed with a 10mm socket. Everything can be bought from Eurocarb. It can be that they are not worn but a bit of dirt is stopping one of the needles closing. It only takes a bit. You only need a screwdriver to take the tops off.
I can email you the ICT section from the Weber Tech book if you want it, just pm me your email address. The needle valves are part 6 on the diagram. Honestly, it is easy to fix if you need to replace the needle valves.
You seem to have same carbs as me Weber ICT 34's. I had a similar problem about a year after they were installed, it seems that the float wasn't floating, it had sunk! This meant that the fuel was leaking into the engine through the carb as the float was't doing it's job. I imagine the plumbing analogy is a ballcock not sealing the valve. Eurocarb admitted that they had received a number of complaints and that it seems that there had been a faulty batch of floats. They replaced mine for free as it was just within the 12 months.
Barry, I may be being a spanner, but...... can I just tap side of carbs without taking air filters off? I’ve noticed one side petrol filter looks a bit pooey inside, the other looks pretty clear.
No need to take filters off but it makes it easier if you do, this happens all the time it is a common problem
I’ve tried hitting carbs with a screw driver but still dripping. I think my Tupperware may be overflowing by morning , worth a try tho. I may try for early finish tomorrow and take the filters off too. I feel all mechanical now. I may purchase a boiler suit tomorrow
As it's a 70s Landmark, you could loosen the float valves by playing "Stayin' Alive" very loudly next to the carbs
