I’ll start with these three from the 70s. Not the actual cars but as close as I could find. The cortina had a Chevy V8 and port hole rear side windows. The golf must have been new and the escort a few years old.

  9. steam.jpg I used to walk along the A59 - just a few miles from the Liverpool docks - and saw many of these wagons on the way there. Always fascinated me

An original 1966 Mini Cooper S in full racing livery belonging to our local Dr. He lived and still does, opposite the top gate of our collage. He still has this mini, and 2 yellow lotus Elans.(both P reg.).

don,t know about cars though in the early sixties going to school we would walk down the a69 newcastle to carlisle - there was a trucking firm called robsons of carlisle and they named their trucks " border " unicorn or banshee or prince for example and we would always be on the look out for them

My first day legally driving an artic on the road began with a driving lesson from Robson's other yard in Flitwick back to Droitwich as a L plate driver one Saturday in 1985.

These were two I recall from walk to primary school and the third was a teacher who was often as late as me and would pick me up en route :)

It was over a half hour walk! No lifts to school from my parents:)
