It claimed 40 lives last year and this weekend we have the sad loss of a mother and daughter who died from this silent killer. Detectors. That's what we all need. GOT ONE YET??
Every van should have one. Can't work out whether it was bad placement of he generator in the boat or some kind of exhaust fault.
A terrible tragedy. I've had one indoors for sometime, just got to make the effort and lookup a suitable unit for the van.
They are not a lot of money ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KIDDE-5CO...42600?pt=UK_Safety_Alarms&hash=item416f601728
That's the one I have. It panics a lot (in that it's quite sensitive) but I like that. fritt there is no excuse. If you have gas appliances then you need one.
Not got one home is a balanced flue boiler and serviced camper the propex is designed with the combustion side separate to the internal, fridge is 12v and my door seals or so bad i have plenty of fresh air
I hear what you're saying matty about the propex but I'm still happy to have one in the bus. Call it peace of mind and all for £10.
Got on win the house up stairs as the boiler is in the loft , got it with new smoke detectors 3 for 2 at b and q spent 50 pounds but well worth it
Don't forget to replace them often. I think they're only good for 5 years max (well, that's what mine says)
Balanced flue boilers have case seals that can break down . There is no excuse for not having a detector
I have no heating in the van, if its that cold I hook up and would use a small fan heater, I have a gas fridge but at night after I have opened the fridge for the last time I turn the gas off at the bottle then turn it back on in the morning. I wish though that a Weico type fridge had been available when I built my van.
