  1. There are plenty of trash in all groups but I agree a bit about the social workers... They are nice middle class people trying to make the world right but are maybe lacking a real world edge

  6. in a nutshell...if I thought my neighbour's kid was being abused, wading in with accusations and fists flying wouldn't be my first response....this is the dilemma

I'm not sure where I'm going either Dicky, it's a discussion forum. :)
We're not really allowed to say it are we, but in the Rotherham case, as said by someone earlier in the thread, they'd never have got away with it with Asian girls. I'm afraid there are many countries in the world, who's views of Western women are based on American films in which compared to local girls, women behave like whores. I went to Egypt with an attractive blonde American girl who had her tits grabbed approx once every 20 seconds by passing local men. No kidding. They thought it fine to treat a western woman like this but would never have dared try it on a local girl - probably have been stoned or beaten to a pulp. At the same time I saw a crowd descend on a local pick-pocket who'd just lifted a wallet from a tourist and beat him to a pulp and return the wallet with grovelling apologies. Different culture.

  8. interesting point made in the article:

Rape isn’t as much about sexual gratification as it is about exerting power over another; any politically or socially disadvantaged member of the society over whom power can easily be exerted, is extremely vulnerable.

So in a nushell, white people are seen as weak. Including morally weak. We see oursleves as advanced, they see us as lost. It's a message Muslims in particular have been sending us for decades. We are so morally lost we're fair game in that we are already doomed to the muslim version of hell. That is why there's no respect for white people amongst a certain section of our communities. I would imagine they also think the country would be better run by themselves, which culture wouldn't think this?

  11. But should you obey your culture or law of the land?

For example drinking in many places would be avoided to adhere to local law so most would adhere to local law and conform

  12. So it perpetuates the patriarchal notion that they deserve what they get.....this goes on in our society as well....

  13. this is where education comes in....women are the most subjugated race the world over....we try to even up the score here in the UK, but there's still much we can do within our own culture to make improvements....i definitely think that if you reside in a particular country you should abide by it's Laws, and do your best to integrate your own cultural values as best you can....it's all about tolerance and understanding....the british media don;t help in this regard

  14. But maybe the west is a bit screwed up in the pursuit of money and gratification...

You can't educate people who aren't listening. Also can you not see how patronising that is sounds?

I think what most social workers lack, in common with many professions it seems these days, is enough colleagues to do their job properly.

Anyway, I'm out too, but remember what Nick what's-his-face used to say at the end of Crimewatch, "Don't have nightmares.......

Because statistically you're more like to be killed by a close family member than a stranger......" (He didn't used to say that last bit, but I believe it's true.....)[/quote]
