  1. So the law of the land was sacrificed.... That inequality is what causes a racial tension for people who live in these area.

  2. No I mean if a man gets caught, every body support the law in nailing them as far as the law allows(most would even support more!) but some section of society are not policed as closely

  3. it happens everyday.....laws are interpretted (and misinterpretted) as a matter of course....to keep the peace

  5. So is allowing the Rotherham grooming to go on acceptable to keep the peace?

  6. We can only hope that the next murder of a young girl is commited by a good old fashioned cockney so this country can be a safer place like it used to be. I'll vote for that......

  7. Bankers for instance! but Yes....I agree that in some circumstances, it would appear that officials are reluctant to apply the letter of the Law for fear of greater disturbance...this is why the Police don't lift every single drug dealer, prostitute, burglar, pimp, etc. for one thing they don't have the man power to do so

  9. lol, but is allowing a convicted murder to live in the country a good idea...I'm sure we can grow our own loonies too!

  10. No...but how you go about bringing the perpetrators to book is another matter

  11. I agree with the relatively 'low level' criminals...but child sexual abuse is a different issue to overlook...

  12. bear in mind, that some young asian girls are killed by their brothers, or a close family member on account of their bringing dishonour onto the family....this is wholly unacceptable in our eyes, but for some, it's the way it is....the only way to challenge this is through education....and policing. The only way to educate is through effective commuity relations....

After what happened to that Crime Commissioner it may well have gone up the list for the remaining ones still in post.

  14. How it is brought to book is for better brains than ours but there should not be a FEAR of reporting it and letting people above resolve it.

  15. This happens a lot, we employed an Indian girl who just stopped coming to work when it was found out she was seeing a white guy...she was never heard from after

You won't win this one @vanorak , 1400 children. That's not a probably figure, that's the minimum that are 100%.
It was going on for years and it seems everyone knew. People were even sent on courses to learn how not to be racist when they bought it to attention. From your posts above, I fear you'd have been the one sending them on those courses if you'd been in that position.

I'm a tolerant person who tries to understand, but in this case condemnation is the only option.
What a situation - how must the many parents who have had there chilren taken into care in order to protect them from their own parents feel? OK they might be pretty hopeless as parents, but in many many cases that's it. Hopeless, not malevolent. And what must other parents in similar situations (children in care) be thinking? Very few people totally give up on their children, many try and get them back, but the authorities know better. Well now we know nothing has changed since Victorian times.

The Catholic priest thing for instance, to my knowledge none of the priests involved were Asian or East European. Neither was Stuart Hall, neither was Ian Huntley..etc

  19. I don't think it's a case of winning the argument....it's absolutely despicable that this has been left to go on unchecked for so long...,It's clearly a systemic failure, akin to those that allow children to be knowingly abused without any recourse or effective protocol (the Catholic Church and the BBC spring to mind). The fact that people with the power to intervene have sat back and allowed it to continue is deplorable, but to turn this into a racist argument isn't the way forward IMO
