No sadly it's not just missing tin - I have that piece out for respraying at the moment! There is about an inch to an inch and a half cut off right around that rear left corner - from part way along the raised bit, to halfway down the side.
Paradox - my plan with my van project has been 1) get it safe, 2) get it useable, 3) start using it, 4) do proper restos where i've done temporary fixes (e.g the fibreglass). Am nearing the end of phase 2 at the moment and getting very excited about the prospect of actually using it. Couldn't agree more though - would have been very annoyed to have bought it and then found fibreglass bodging everywhere!
The easiest solution as said above is get the bit from Schofields. If you're not at welding yet, cut off what you need, overlap it, pop-rivet it on (wash my mouth out with thinners!) and you'll have enough to trim down and weld "later".
