Not much to report for now........ Up on the ramps for final stopping of the bottom half, and pull the motor, so we can clean up the engine bay.......luckily the chasis rails in here are fine so no repairs were necessary. Tools for the job......brake cleaner and scotchbrite.... Bit of elbow grease later..... Paint in the next week or two.........trouble is show season beckons. So free Saturdays are gonna get scarce....... :
Loving the work done here and, like many others who've had the kahunas to go for it, you're an inspiration as to what can be done We're heading in the direction of green (got to dream about getting to the painting stage haven't you?) as that what it says in the log book! Currently is sealing wax red / antique cream but started life in Norway as L345 Light Grey but it had a resto about 10 years ago and only the bits under the dash remained the original colour Looking forward to seeing it in green! Decided to tidy up the engine tin ware.......which was duely removed....... One leak to sort, around the oil pump cover.... And a pile of tinware........ Heaven.............if you like Bays.........
Cheers chaps......Starting to put it back together today...... Weird heat exchangers......never noticed the hot spots are at the wrong end......... Word on TheSamba is that they may be off one of these.....
Finally got some paint on.......was meant to be Jade Green........but out of the gun, looks more Safari Beige...... Doors next......started to clean them up, turns out they were pretty good, just a smooth over to take out the dings and dangs of the last 39 odd years.... Apart from the drivers door, for some reason it hadn't faired so well..........
