Making progress now. Slider has the first coat of primer on top of the etch. Engine cover and tailgate are now rubbed down after stopper, waiting for 2 more primer coats.

One door primed up as well. One door to go and the opening parts are ready. Main shell now needs the battery tray and front panel sorting, then almost ready for primer too.

  15. There's been quite a bit of progress over the past couple of weeks, although it hasn't looked like that much. A lot of general preparation has now been done and the welder has finally been in to sort out the battery tray and a few other areas. I've opted to put a backing plate on the US rear side light holes and the side power inlet. They can always be opened up later, but I prefer the look without them. The battery tray spot welds were drilled out and the new tray plug welded back in place.

  16. Battery tray in place with backing plate over the rear side light hole. The plate will be dressed up and sealed / painted.

  17. Backing plate for hook up hole in the side of the van. Don't need the US style socket and prefer a plain side on the van without the old socket cover. The hook up will probably go somewhere in the engine bay.

  18. Not the best picture, but the only bit of floor rot was on the drivers (LHD) side where it looked like brake fluid had leaked and stripped the paint, allowing the corrosion to set in. As usual, it only looked like a small hole, but needed quite a bit cutting back to get to good metal.

  19. Most of the detail areas around the tailgate and engine cover have already been filled and sanded, as have the body sides. So now the holes in the bodywork and battery tray are done, preparation has started on the rear corners. The offside rear was a bit rough due to the battery tray replacement and some damage to the rear of the rear arch and liner that looked like it had been caused by a shredded tyre. First pass with the filler here - most of this will come off again once is's gone off!
