    Some time mid-afternoon I hope ....

  2. We aim to set off after early lunch - about 1pm - aiming to get there by 4pm - or be waiting for BYT somewhere along the way.

  3. I'm only 1/2 hour away so probably set off early afternoon.

  4. Scafell? Possibly...;) Will bring walking boots!

  5. Which is best way - off at J36 then A590 through Newby bridge and head up to Eskdale, or go further up to A591 and through Windemere and Ambleside?
    It'll be around 4.30 when I get to J36 :)

  6. what route are you planning on, avoid windermere and don't go over hardknott. i think it may take you more than 2 hours but we'll save you a space.
can't remember how long it took @bernjb56 last year he may have a better idea of time it will take

  7. @davek aim for Ravenglass, then up to Eskdale, seems the longer way but more van friendly. We should be getting there about midday.

  8. Thank you ladies :)

We're on grass no hook up - if someone could save us a space for van and large awning that'd be absolutely super

Katies looking forward to seeing everyone again - and so am I of course ;)

  9. get the kettle on then, we hope to be there not long after you. then again i don't have to drive half as far as most coming up................my engine will just be getting upto temperature.

    It took an age

  11. Looks like Katie might have a dental appointment at 1 o'clock then ;-)

  12. Trying to work out the best route from sunny Leeds...

  13. I was told to avoid the upper route that goes through Windemere and Ambleside and do the lower route that goes via Newby Bridge and through Broughton-in-Furness.

  14. Yep. Thinking A595 way

  19. Yes - C&CC advise that you must go via A590 and Newby Bridge - or you will end up on Wrynose and Hardknott pass - which would be a bit of a drive to say the least.
After Newby Bridge turn right onto A5092 towards Broughton and then A595 up the coast to Ravenglass and Holmbrook before turning right to Boot - careful not to take the earlier turn right just past Broad Oak as this is rather twisty.

  20. My route finder suggested I turn right at Broughton and headed along Smithy Lane - looks a lot shorter than going along A595?

Any reason not to go that way?
