I like the one about the car park attendant at Bristol Zoo that had been working there for 38 years guiding cars into the car park and collecting the money. Suddenly he left. The Zoo thought the car park belonged to the council and the council thought it belonged to the Zoo. 38 years collecting money and gone in shake.. Class. Do you have a fave urban myth?
I think the story is. He took all the money and both thought the other employed him. Is's just a myth btw.
A couple of would-be robbers decided to rob a bank., Once inside, the robbers, who expected to find one or two large safes filled with cash and valuables, were surprised to see hundreds of smaller safes scattered throughout the bank. The robbers cracked the first safe’s combination, and inside they found only a bowl of vanilla pudding. As recorded on the bank’s audio tape system, one robber said, “At least we’ll have a bit to eat.” The robbers opened up a second safe, and it also contained nothing but vanilla pudding. The process continued until all the safes were opened. They found not one pound sterling, a diamond, or an ounce of gold. Instead, all the safes contained covered bowls of pudding. Disappointed, the robbers made a quiet exit, each leaving with nothing more than a queasy, uncomfortably full stomach. The newspaper headline read: “IRELAND’S LARGEST SPERM BANK ROBBED EARLY THIS MORNING.”
Glasgow Celtic played Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the cup and lost 6-0. The headline in Mondays paper was.... Wait for it... Super Cali are terrific. Celtic are atrocious! Bum..bum.
In Los Angeles, there was a notorious gang involved in all sorts...drugs, prostitution, protection...you name it. This gang had an initiation ceremony, whereby the prospective gang member had to cruise the city streets after midnight with no headlamps on...he/she then had to follow and shoot the first driver to flash their lights at them....this became known as 'Death Car'....such was the fear that residents stopped flashing their headlamps during the evenings...
I thought this thread would be stuff like... If you look the fuel gauge in a car and the hose is pictured on the left, Then the filler cap is also on the left. This makes me smile because it is true, but often disbelieved.
I'm amazed that I've never heard this, I do believe you, and I'm going to check our vehicles in the morning. I so hope it's true.
Sadly its not really true, try these... Rover VVC is the same system as Honda's VTEC. All Rover 75s have BMW engines Rover 75 floorpan is the same as a E39 5 Series Jaguar X Types are Mondeos BMW took the RDX60 design (Rover 35) and made the original 1 series.
How on Earth am I ever going to be able to trust you again? You've not only let me down, you've let yourself down and you've let TLB down.
Rover developed a jet engine to power a road car. They couldn't get it quiet enough to run on normal roads so the project was shelved. The jet engine they developed though is fitted in the Hercules aircraft and provides power and air to start the main engines. It's called the Rover APU or Auxiliary Power Unit.
