Oh look what I've got Arrived in post today from mega-bug, took it to get it powder coated at mid day and ready by 3pm. Just need the other bits (hinge etc.) before I can fit it back in the van It's funny as at one point couldn't get one and now today two turned up in the post Brilliant well happy Hope it fits well with the parts that should arrive from heritage in the next few days
Yippee the hinge, spring and pedal pin arrived today... Didn't take me long to dismantle the old pedal give it all a good clean and then make up the new pedal. You can see I need to get a couple of circlips and another clip for the push rod VWH said I don't need circlips apparently as its not in their picture - you can clearly see I do. A job at the weekend to fix it all to the van.
The pins are usually a smaller dia in the centre where the spring locates. The spring stops the pin slipping out and no circlips needed. VWH could do with looking at their kits.
It wasn't a kit they sold. I noted they had the other type pin but I didn't like the look of it (mainly because I've sent back lots of brazzy carp) and this pins looks a better option and more secure + it fits very well. Just need to fit a couple of circlips which heritage don't sale and said its not needed.
& @MorkC68 There for the electrical connection There something to do with the auto box It operates the kickdown solenoid see Bentley Section7 page 11 subsection 5.2
i used the other type i found they were easier to use and if you needed to dismantle and they were stronger with small washer , other e or c ones are ok too but i preferred these . Both shown
Well it sort of is fly by... Floor it to use the overdrive and it goes like nobody's business... It's a 2L so its not holding back the horses
i tried the others but one broke and these are easy to take off n change if you need to strip quick .
