Techenders: 26th - 28th April 2019. Who's coming?

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by Baysearcher, Mar 20, 2019.

  2. Well you did ask ...

Trick fitting brackets and fancy non fouling roll out awnings are also available - @ZED had one - @nicktuft has a beauty .

    Not cheap ...

  3. I will find a simple and cheap (reasonable) solution,
I've seen a few of the roll out awnings - they are expensive and a bit too big
    Bloody devon roofs!

I think I’ve got a pretty good solution, I’m just working out in my head , as to how to do it.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, I’m off to work now and I’ll spill the beans later when I gets home :)

I have the awning in the bus, the clamps are in a bag with it so I will try and get a picture at lunch time when I will have my lunch in the bus.

We are actually discussing Technical matters in a Techenders thread. What is wrong with us?

  6. What about neodymium magnets?

Beading sewn into the canopy with an awning rail, or thinner poles that will get between the roof base and the gutter edge for me I reckon.

  16. Have a google they are incredible strong magnets for there size

I reckon little pockets sewn in the edge of the canopy to hold the magnets and some webbing or paracord loops sewn in aswell to help pull them off when you pack up would be just the trick.

I think something like this but fitted just inside the fibreglass shroud approx. 5 - 10 milly whatsits or a I/4" inside the fibreglass shroud. Allow the thing to extend past the shroud both front and rear by drilling a small access hole into the front and rear of the shroud. Thread it in with it`s cord and allow it to slide under the fibreglass shroud because the shroud is not actually fitted or fixed to the roof apart from the upstand much further up. If the access slot could be made to fit pointing down at the gutter it may be even betterer. So when not in use, all you`ll see is how ever much you wish to see extending out the shroud at the front and the rear, you could maybe make it all hide and just have a hole to thread into at one end.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,but I does likes them gert lush deo whatsit magnets, that`s what I uses and theym brill :)
