Your first car with pics please if you have em.

  1. My first car was a Chrysler Alpine 1.3 it was rubbish.
    This is how I bought it for £30:-

    This is how it looked when finished, I fitted 4 new doors, bonnet, tailgate, two front wings, two sills, new rear panel, new clutch and rear suspension:-

    Eventually sold it for £350 and bought my first Beetle EUJ 871C

  3. Oh thats amazing!! I love that car :thumbsup: I dont think I have any pics of my first car on this laptop (it was a long time ago!) but I will see if I can find some..

  4. Good man the Chrysler Alpine was car of the year in 1977 by 1987 they had all rusted away. :)

  8. My first car was a 69 1500 beetle in chinchilla, WMH104G it was, I often wonder what happened to it

    I'll have to get the daguerrotype album out & see if there are any photos of my old van.
    It was the same as this, only rusty & not shiny ....... guess it was a rat before there was a name for the look. :)

  10. Snap! I had one too except in orange. I think it was called Mars Red but it looked more orange to me. Bought it at auction for £75. Fitted new dash and locks as it was a stolen recovery. Why they did do much damage I don't know - I could open mine with a friends keys and the ignition could be bypassed so easily. Bought a new dash from a scrapyard. Loved that car.

    '76 Datsun 100A...but with a 1500 Stanza engine in it...Used to eat XR2's for breakfast at traffic lights,top end was crud though 'cos it was still on the original gearbox.Great fun though,had a cherry bomb on it too.;)

    My dad has a mk3 Ghia, exactly like that, 2.0 auto on the T with a gnpenuine 19k on it. He loves it.

  17. I didn't see that, I just followed the trend. My first and only new car was a Lotus Esprit, the car that turned me away from VWs for years. I went out looking to buy a new 911 but when I sat in an Esprit just out of curiosity I was blown away, it looked and felt like a spaceship :lol:

    My first motor. Paid £140 in 1993 had front end damage. New bonnet & headlight from the scrappy & a new "pop-on" wing, painted by my old man's mate-lovely job!
