TBH, who knows what we are being told is a direct comparison to what is actually happening..if that makes sense
Its spin and to be honest the supply of the media as Marmite stirring has long been recognized and the web is fast proving the truth.
I know what you mean, I lived in Portsmouth when all the ships were leaving for the argie bargy . I was young but remember the war word being thrown around and felt scared. Was worried with the gilf stuff too, as it was quite graphic on tv, but it still felt disconnected

Well! We are where we are now guys and gals. Im not sure whether i have to rally around our forces (sorry...force) and hope for the best or queue up for my comedy exploding waistcoat having been branded persona non grata by "call me Dave". Lets hope the ready for the scrap yard planes we send out there day after day hold up to the rigours. I genuinely hope that i was wrong and that civilian casualties will be light, they sure as hell wont be non existant. As for boots on the ground.... Clearly someone competent has eyes-on the targets. Its not all satelite and smart bombs really you know. Who dares wins eh!
There all tit's labour and Tory because both of them have been responsible for getting us caught up in wars . If it wasn't for Blair we wouldn't be in this irreparable mess we are in now .
must feel like that to be a drone operator...or an MP voting for human carnage in a foreign country. Hope you don't mind me pilfering an excerpt from your MPs response @Pickles In the meantime, there are a number of objectives that can be achieved through airstrikes alone, such as work to disrupt finance sources by hitting strategic oil assets. Surely, they have known this since the very outset; long before the first real stirings of civil unrest in Syria. They will undoubtedly have considered this in any strategic planning for future conflict. They have observed the convoys transporting oil to Turkey, on a weekly basis, via military satellites and the numerous secret services operating on the ground...they have known that the huge revenues from these oil sales have been used to purchase armaments....they will know who supplied this weaponary and the various routes through which it enters the country...they have the most comprehensive, sophisticated military intelligence ever devised; their ability to infiltrate organisations and run covert operations around the globe is unparalleled....so ask the question why now? what's the bigger picture? This bears all the hallmarks of a long term strategy, and if this proves to be the case, then Al q'aeda, The Muslim Brotherhood, Al Nusra front, ISIS, Boko Haram, Ansar al sharia and all the others are fanatical patsies... Prior to 9/11, the narrative concerning islamic extremism extended to hijacking jets, regional spats, taking the odd hostage for money, sporadic anti-israeli operations...(not that any of the former are acceptable, I hasten to add) Post 9/11, the entire narrative changed....the message was rammed down our throats, a daily diet of fear-mongering propaganda...the War on Terror....if what we are witnessing now is not a direct consequence of a sustained plot to destroy specific nations, with all the inevitable suffering this entails considered 'a price worth paying' (including atrocities in the homelands), then it's the biggest f*cking coincidence in the recent history of mankind....like the first world war, the second, and all the other 'interventions' ever since....wars don't happen...they're engineered. I don't believe for one moment, that this Syrian incursion is simply a reaction to a crisis.
