  6. £30million, yes £30million to win 5 medals!!!

    Madness, utter madness.

Glad I don't do the Lotto, that's for sure.

Yes it does seem rather a lot for little reward.

Give me £30m and I’ll give 10 people real gold medals rather than painted tin.

Double the amount of people happy

Or £30m to spend on homeless people, NHS  blah blah blah ..... you chose

  10. As I understand it, the Lotto was never meant to fund this sort of thing but John Major changed the rules.

Just seems a waste to fund mainly middle class 'athletes' to pursue their mainly boring 'sports' in some trendy ski resort.

If I see Lizzie Yarnold or, heaven forbid, Elise Christy one more time on the telly telling us how much 'hard work' and 'sacrifice' it's all been I won't be held responsible for my actions.

'Hard work' and 'sacrifice', in my opinion, apply to ordinary people who are trying to get by on a hard, minimum wage job (or jobs).

    Rant over.

Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull each have a budget of about €500 million p.a., but that's privately funded not government money.
