My noise, sorry one of my noises, turned out to be the aerial....bit of pipe insulation sorted it.

  2. I think a bit of wind noise is a quirk of owning an old camper van. Or Is it just being older it becomes the norm  a nice chilli seems to exaggerate it

  6. Sadly no door vents. But I found out after bending the door it now makes the noise at 40 now and not 30 so I might be onto something

  7. If you bend the door at right angles, it might stop

My antenna whistles in the breeze when it’s at full stretch. But, hey, that’s enough about me

    I'm sure it's a door seal problem.

I can remember going on an Aer Lingus plane during a maintenance strike. It was a BAC1-11 with the door and ramp in the middle at the rear.

The unearthly death scream from the door seal when we reached altitude was fixed with a box full of J cloths from the galley..

If your radio cuts out , two things may be the case.
    1) its crap.
    2) the connection to the 12 volt power needs to be thicker.

It is. Some of the T3 Caravelles fitted without vented rear windows have, now as common as Unicorns, whistle stop seals in the fronts of the doors.

  12. I had this on a customer’s van, it was the plastic door membrane. Took me ages to work it out.

  13. We have the same issue. I think ours is due to the window not sealing correctly, if you push quite hard on the top left of the passenger door window the whistling stops. Likewise opening the window slightly stops the whistle, but introduces the roar. Good job I'm half deaf, buy Mrs A doesn't like it, but she is normally more concerned that something will fall off, or catch fire, that the whistle is the least of her worries, at least we must still be moving.
