Congrats bodyrock, your bus looks to be the baby of the bunch on here at the mo, 3 days younger than my bus... K2U..

  10. According to the M-Plate decoder website, mine has a planned production date of 21st June 1979, first registered in this country on 17th May 1980 on a 'V' plate. Being 'young' doesn't seem to have stopped it from being rusty though!

  15. We need photo evidence. I'm not handing over the trophy till then. >:D

  16. As you can appreciate, not the easiest of things to photograph but I've done my best :D[IMG]
The M-Plate: the numbers 25 4, bottom left corner, show that Lemmy (for that is his name!) had a planned production date of week 25, day 4. Apparently this translates to Thursday 21st June.

The VIN plate behind the drivers seat: the third digit, 9, in the chassis number showing the manufacturing year as 1979.

Obviously, I stand to be corrected O0

Here you go, it's sideways I know. Just turn your head.

Congratulations. You have the youngest bus so far.

    ;)

  18. I don't have Automatic transmission anymore! Perhaps that's why it's a bugger to get into gear sometimes ;)

  19. Got a V reg but can't find my m plate !!

  20. Finally managed to read and decode my m-plate, what a damn silly place to put such a thing!!

Unfortunately I don't have the youngest bay, (I knew that really before I started trying to get to the m-plate). Despite being registered in June '79, Ruby was actually produced in December 1978 and instead of being the camper I thought she was; it turns out that she started life as a delivery van! Bit disappointing really, but I still love her
