  3. The bank just subtracts :)

  4. I haven't but I have been tempted to, I would guess its somewhere around the 10k mark though

  5. This year I've spent £482.37 on petrol - 2106 miles.

In the past I have spent over £4,000 on curtains...

    Mrs. Fishtrousers said to me,

    'Lets replace the curtains...
we might as well re-upholster all the cushions at the same time...
that'll make the cupboards look a bit shabby, might as well have them re-built at the same time...
& a captains chair would be a good idea...

then the garage joined in as well

While all your interior is out, do you want me to replace the sills...
    & the inner sills...
    & the rear arches....

    Cracking curtains though!

  6. a friend of mine has a z28 camaro [american car ]

he has spent 41k on it in total

£4,578 so far but still got to paint it and finish interior, hope to end up around £6,500 but my hours are mine and I don't charge myself for them!

  8. Since 2008, inc purchase price of 4k i reckon 10k :(

  9. I think I'm around £5k including purchase. Got all my receipts but don't want to add it up. All I know is it's currently valued higher than what I've spent so im happy.

  10. i have all the invoices and receipts etc in a folder .... i imagine its in the region of £3k+ .... over the last 3 years .... but most of it was all upfront after the engine blew up

  11. Possibly the cruelest thread ever posted on here. Makes me shudder...

  12. well i keep the receipts , i" d only spend the cash on disposable stuff anyhow, one thing that scares me , if you do your own repairs/maintenance , take aLL the hours to inc. time spent sourcing parts ,going to post office/bank ,calling yer mate 4 advice ,add to that the time fitting /make fit ! AND THEN put a reasonable hourly rate against said time ! >>>>WHOW !!!

  13. We did for about the first three months & then I stopped!! We have all the receipts etc but I am not adding it all up as the number would be too big :D

  14. Never add it up :(...

  15. I dont but the Lady Stooboo does, even when I make secret purchases. Funnily enough her fiscal acuity seems to evaporate when costing replacement kitchens etc

I guess its in the region of £20k for hardware - eBay bus, welding, doors, respray, gearbox, brakes, heaters, lights, stereo, carburettor, jack, tools, welder, cushions, seat covers, van cover, MOT fail.

Add fuel for 14000 miles at 19mpg about £4500.

I just compare it with depreciation on a new car...

And remember the mileage saved on my other car.

I also compare it with the £10k 90K mile Zafira I bought once that wasted £4k on fixing before the turbo blew.
