  1. Sorry to be patronising but were you around in the 80s. You shouldnt be abused for your thoughts which are very caring and sympathetic but her kids are Carol and Mark Thatcher - you do know that dont you.

  2. i had no respect for her in life, why on earth would i show any in her death? i'm not hypocritical and would have to beat myself with a stick if i said otherwise.
howver, i will concede that it is a shame that her legacy lives on.

Don't put words in my mouth, I wholeheartedly agree with a some of that (the Blair bit). So when they die will you also say they deserve respect because they were by now old and had families?

Did she really make all these bad decisions or just take responsibility for them?

Not sure why that pleases you Erm? Surely what she meant was that she'd turned labour into a version of the Tory party so whoever wins she gets her way. She wasn't daft.

  16. It was her government but of course she had advisors. She did what needed to be done albeit not always as delicately as she might have. But after the unions brought down Callaghan (a very decent man who deserves to remembered more fondly) she wasn't going to mess around to bring the UK into the modern world.

  17. that's why i said "nuff said". i resent the usual form that anyone opposing tories would necessarily be pro blair. they wheel him out every time and even the left can't stand him. :D now we just need him arrested for war crimes and my day would be near perfect!

  18. Perhaps the Mods were right as it seems some people are upset enough not to like me. Anyone else not being liked?

I think that someone else would have eventually made all the same decisions with the same end results. Luck of the draw.
