Looks like an oil temperature sensor. ls there a part number on the black plug??

  4. I assumed since we had the bus it was some kind of sender but now i've noticed it says 220v on the top of the black bit so could it be an auxilary crankcase heater seeing as our bus came from near the arctic circle, maybe explain an unknown m code?

  5. Sniff it lol

Is your van Swedish? Take a look at the plug, does it say 220/240volts, it's a sump oil heating element for those uber frosty days :)

  9. Agreed... sump heater for sub zero starting

  10. Are you guessing same as me or have you seen these before mate

  11. I've not seen one before, but have heard about them... plus it's totally different to what you would have if it was a temp sensor!!

  12. Mystery solved then, i guess this is possibly one of my unknown m codes. Cheers guys.

I have seen one as my van had one fitted and all the wiring in place . See it says 250watts on it, no question it's a heating element, I removed mine a fitted a standard sump plate

  14. The 220v and 250w on it was what sorta led me to guess it as a heater element, i might remove it and just replace it with a standard plate.
