Its a good song ..Both , full of variations .The drummer on the first one plays very similar to Mitch Mitchell of Jimi Hendrix band ...lively with plenty wack .
Curtis Mayfield, Move On Up, just listening to it now. It’s Sunday morning and the clocks have just gone back, the suns out and it’s a fabulous morning. Do they arrange for a nice morning when the clocks go back just as a placebo as the clocks have gone back to doom and gloom days ! Move On Up comes on classic gold on the radio/ tv. Now there’s a line in there that makes me think every time I hear it and I wonder why they’ve written it like that. The line is ,,,””Take Nothing Less Than The Second Best “” If I was writing a song, I reckon I’d say “take nothing less than the VERY best” Or is there some sort of hidden meaning here that I’m missing . Is this some sort of metaphor for the abundant racism bounding about at that time ? I just don’t know. Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,interesting or real answers only
I was talking to the wife a couple of days ago about that very line in the song , it doesnt seem to be the right wording at all , ive tried to make it make sense but i cannot. I summarised it to the wife " your not the ugliest woman in the world, but you look alot like her , and i married you so that no one else would have to suffer you"
How totally weird is that, that you’ve had the same thought. Usually I just muse for a few seconds, but this time I actually mentioned it to my Mrs Ozziedog. She carried on talking about whatever it was that she was talking about and I’m pretty sure we both just sighed and tutted at each other. So I penned it on here ? Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,Made me proper smile, ear to ear
