What is the maximum you would pay for a bay?

  1. Surely it depends upon the amount of cash you have (or can borrow) at anyone time and your ability/desire/time to do something up yourself.

This; and what you want from a bus.

It does. That is what I am asking, what would you pay?

  4. It would depend on what the vehicle is, if say it was a white westy of which there is a plethora in the UK, I would pay as little as possible and do the work myself, but if something came up like a euro double door sunroof deluxe with its correct middle seat I would be selling the kids/Mrs/pets etc.

  5. I'd be happy to spend £15k, but i'd want a pretty good bus for that. in effect what I actually did (because I didn't have £15K) was to spend half of that (on a solid US import) and then spend a load over the course of the next few years.

  6. It would be interesting to know how much people have spent renovating their bus. That would surely then give you an idea of how much you would spend on a bay. For me so far, I am fast approaching £18k for cost of bus and renovation. A massive proportion of my renovation has been the interior.

  7. About 10k tops.

  8. Given the price of a new El Rusto Brazzy Bay, I'd happily pay £35k for a perfect, fully restored, bare metal, ground up documented rebuild. If I had the money, which I don't.
It'd cost at least that and then some to get one done like that and you'd have an infinitely more desirable and better built Camper that wouldn't depreciate or fall apart.

    a loving it.

  13. Payed 4k
    [IMG]Then spent 4k.

[IMG] Do not think I would want to spend more than 12 to 14 k on buying a camper
Only as the amount of use most weekends I get her out but sometimes I may go a few weeks and she is not driven
Would not like to get to the point that will have to sell due to she is worth lots of money just sitting in a garage ...do not see our one going any time soon :)
But it's sad times on here when you see them being sold due to job loss or other worries that people have or do they just fall out of love with them ???
Or my old camper paid 9k
    [IMG] Sold for 10k

Be interesting to see what values people would put on their own buses. I bet there's a big gap between what they'd buy for and what they'd sell for?

I paid 6.5k for mine which was probably about 2k too much! Sometimes wish i'd waited and spent more on something more solid in the 10-12k market. The only consolation is that at least i know the work that is going into it and the quality of that work!
