westy louvered window

  1. Anyone got a pic of how the inside of a westy louvered window looks?

Mate of mine has just got one, and isn't 100% certain of how it goes in... and I've never done one, so it's all new to me

if you look at the frame it has a lip which has a slot in it pointing towards the opposite side of the van when you fit the window, the fixing screws go inbetween the 2 lips, so you need to drill around 20 holes in the window frame lip (the bit on the van) then screw into the westy window to draw it hard up agains the van.

  6. Is there any sort of finish/cover that goes over it to hide the screw heads?

  12. Hey guys,

Thanks for this peeps very much appreciated, nice one Paul :)

Theres a lot of cleaning up and refurb to do before i can install it, it currently looks like davy jones had it on board the mary celeste for a century ;)

Any tips on the best place to get a new outer seal, glass seals and a knob from?

Was thinking of calling status vw for the seals as i need a rectangular side window and windscreen seal too :)

    cheers!

    deano.

  13. Actually ignore that last question, just got off the phone to status and they do everything i need!

    Cheers :)

  15. Hi again :)

davidoft thanks for the pics its a great help, I don't suppose you know the diameter and length of the retaining screws do you???

I have to source some new ones as i have none, assuming self tappers, stainless will be sufficient

    :)

    Cheers,

    deano
